HUB: you have your selected Items on the bottom left, selected Weapons on the bottom right. When you hold still a ring appears around Snake. The ring is a compass, and has an N on it pointing north. It is also used to detect nearby enemies by the ring fluxing in a wave in the enemies direction.
Items
Snake has a couple of items in his inventory in the demo. Solid Eye, Drum Can, MG MK II. Items menu show up in L shape when selected. Like all MGS'S.
Solid Eye: snake has a couple of different modes for his Solid Eye. Normal, Scope, ENVG, there are probably more modes than this, but they haven't shown them yet. Normal is basic normal view. Scope works as a pair of binoculars zooms from x1.0 to x10.0. ENVG this shows every thing things in white, and everything else in black. I think it stands for energy vision goggles.
Drum Can: Snake can equip the Drum Can like the box. Unlike the box it can deflect bullets. Snake can also lie down in the Drum Can, and roll into a nearby enemy to knock them out. When Snake unequips the Drum Can, after rolling Snake is dizzy and throws up. Throwing up seems to cause depression.
MG MK II: it's a metal gear that is used for reconnaissance, it has a weak electrical charge that can stun enemies, but has no other attacks. It is controlled with the SIXAXIS controller. If you make a mistake while controlling him he will spin out of control. It also has stealth camouflage. When it was near by the demolished van the action button option talked up. I assume this is used for hacking or absorbing energy to replenish battery or both. It may be used just to pop the tire but I'm not so sure, why would you need to pop tires in this game maybe there's a reason.

Weapons
Snake has a couple of weapons in his inventory in the demo, and most of these weapons are picked up from enemies. MK 2 Pistol, Stun Knife, AK-102, GP30, Mosin Nagant, RPG-7, P90, Grenade, WP G, Book. Weapons menu show up in reversed L shape when selected like all MGS'S. There is a A,B,C. you can place on weapons. I assume you can toggle between these three on-the-fly. Some of the weapons that may return are Stun G, Chaff G, Smoke G, Claymore, C4. There will be probably more for the guns returning as well.
MK 2 Pistol: tranquilizer gun with a single shot anesthetic round.
Stun Knife: this can be used as a combat knife, or to shock and knock out enemies.
AK-102: this looks like a basic AK it has full auto most likely three shot burst and single shot.
GP30: grenade launcher that is equip to your AK-102. Not sure what other guns it can equip to.
Mosin Nagant: this looks like a basic sniper rifle with a single shot anesthetic round and zoom of x03 to x10.
RPG7: looks like basic RPG with a zoom of x03 and it may go x10.
P90: looks like basic P90.
Grenade: basic grenade. HUD shows distance, arc and target.
WP Grenade: White Phosphorus Grenade. HUD shows distance, arc and target.
Book: Men's Magazine has more pages this time, you can flip through the pages freely and in first person you can see the pictures. This seems to work as an antidepressant. It is also used to distract the enemy.
PCM’s Gun: PCM have guns; not sure the make or the model.
